Like many other fan of Rasmus Faber, I waited for this CD because I love his production and I played a lot of his tracks. When I saw how many people are involved in this project, I knew we have great summer CD. Where We Belong (RaFa’s Epic Journey) is one of these CDs that you can listen many times. When you press PLAY first time, you’ll be blessed with Emily McEwan vocals in Are You Ready. Ideal track for the beginning of this journey, electronic, deep, latin and full of vocals and melody. With Give It To Me, we’re going a little bit deeper. Excellent vocals by Dyanna Fearon and Rasmus’ house-lounge production will make you to repeat this track few times more than others, it’s catchy with surprising end. There is a nice Alright Interlude which will boost your mood for a few bars and prepare you for next track & next guest vocal – Linda Sundblad, Swedish female singer, actor and model. Track is interesting, but not my cup of tea, some kind of electronic lullaby. On the other (latin nu-jazz) side, next guest Clara Mendes with Na Minha Terra will get you in the diferent mood. With crazy broken rhythms and Clara’s beautiful vocals, you’ll be teleported on the beach, 10 of 10 stars.
Any Way, we need some funky disco latin rhythms after beach party and that’s why can hear Emily McEwan again on 6th track. 1st and 6th tracks are Asian release bonus tracks. I also enjoyed in Everytime We, classic house rhythms and nice vocals by Dyanna Fearon. As much as I wanted to listen to Always, 2nd guest appearance of Linda Sundblad, well, I’m not a fan. I Don’t Mind has much more to offer for me, I loved Parasto’s nice vocals and great music story behind it. Excellent Rasmus’ production with great singer in 9min and 24secs, yep. 10th track Never Figure Out with 3rd appearance of Emily McEwan is right on the spot; chill, grab a drink and enjoy ! Yes, close your eyes and you’ll see tropical beach, blue sky… Dyanna Fearon’s 3rd appearance in No More Falling is simply cream on the pie. Emotional melodies mixed with Rasmus’ great rhythm, result is excellent summer house track. That great vocal of Clara Mendes will lift my mood one more time in Cidade Oposta. I simply love Brazilian music and shes a great talent. There is more on this CD, Traveller Toccata will stop you for a moment so you can enjoy this small interlude and prepare yourself for 3 more tracks. One of these tracks has 4th appearance of Dyanna Fearon, she is a UK’s prolific songwriter as well as an excellent singer and dancer. Nu Jazz rhythms with her vocals = excellent. Where We Belong just proves Rasmus’ production skills, maybe one of these tracks will finish as a movie soundtrack? Who knows. This is excellent easy listening CD, even if you didn’t heard for Rasmus (which I doubt), I suggest you to listen his latest CD release Where We Belong (RaFa’s Epic Journey).
