Abstracode – Post-mortem EP (2010)

Just wanted to say that our new Post-mortem EP is available for free download everywhere including our Soundcloud and LastFM pages.

You are encouraged to download, listen, discuss, spread & whatever.
We appreciate your concern.

As for the future plans, I must express my uncertainty about them. We lack of ideas at the moment basically, which is why it’s pretty difficult to come up with a worthy follow-up, not to mention a complete LP.
When our first album came out we were initially tagged as trip hop, which turned out to be a complete disaster for me personally, as Abstracode encapsulates ‘abstract’ in the first place, meaning all the music we make is supposed to be out of boundaries somehow, a bit mental, although it sounds like trip hop or downtempo. But can the artist avoid any boundaries nowadays?..

Anyway, I hope we’ll sort everything out eventually, so just stay tuned and check back sometimes…

Dimi Angélis is a Dutch producer, and techno/house DJ, born on island of Corfu, Greece, but grown up in the Netherlands, where he has been in touch with music since his youth. Until the age of 21 he was inspired and driven by rock music, which he put into practice through playing saxophone and drums. In the summer 1992, during his stay on Mallorca, he discovered house music for the first time. Over the coming years he absorbed influences by various house artists, which inspired him to get actively involved with house music himself: in 1997 he became a DJ. In those early beginnings of his DJ-ing career, he mostly drew influences and inspiration from Dutch artists Angelo, Steve Rachmad, Dimitri and Remy. Soon after, Dimi’s taste and affection towards house were to be refined, and his artistic expression grew to be bound to techno. His biggest influences became Laurent Garnier and predominantly Steve Rachmad and Jeff Mills. Steve Rachmad’s and Jeff Mills’s works remain his greatest inspiration up to the last few years. …
